Cackling Goose
Branta hutchinsii

taxonomical / Anseriformes / Anatidaie / Cackling Goose

April 23, 2005

Merv Cormier, Allen Gorham and I were making a spring Jemseg run.  After meeting Gilles Belliveau, we went with him to see a Cackling Goose among a flock of Canada Geese, originally found by Don Gibson that morning.

The flock of 40 or so Canada Geese and the Cackling Goose were on the other side of the (flooding) river, between 700-900 metres from where we made our observations.  The pictures are enlarged significantly.

Another lifer for me.
